It offers the fun of a sports sedan, the load-hauling capacity of a small minivan, and the seating position of an SUV. All at a great price. Plus there’s the excellent Suzuki warranty: seven years or 100,000 miles. It covers the engine, transaxle, transmission and transfer case, and front- and four-wheel-drive systems. Suzuki adds 24-hour emergency assistance and a rental vehicle when an owner’s vehicle is being repaired and allows the warranty to be transferred to new owners. Still, once you get past its interesting styling, this is essentially a journeyman sort of vehicle. It’s powered by a 2.3-liter four bumped up by 10 hp this year to 155 hp. QuadGrip all-wheel-drive is an option (but only with the automatic transmission). Other than the power boost, it stays unchanged for 2004.
